The Official Launch of The MTC ERM Software

03 Dec 2008

The timber industry has achieved a steady growth over the past few years and in 2007, it has achieved an impressive export earning of RM22.76 billion. However, the timber industry is facing ever-growing challenges caused by globalisation, such as competition from other countries that can produce goods in a more cost-effective manner, whether by having lower production costs of by more advanced production technologies.

If the timber industry is to sustain its growth and make it to the next level successfully, then they have to take heed of the new environment and to adapt to the changing conditions such as the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT). In the era of globalisation, one cannot avoid the impact of ICT on our everyday life, be it at home or at work. The MTC is very much aware of this and has introduce various ICT products in the past to encourage the wider adoption and utilisation of ICT in the timber industry.

The MTC Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) software is the latest offering, which specially tailored to the needs of the woodworking industry.

The MTC ERM is the first full pledge ERM 2 system developed on the Microsoft.NET platform, harnessing the power of the Internet that enables one to obtain critical information about his organisation whenever he needs and from wherever he is. MTC ERM systems come with both basic as well as advanced modules that are necessary to accommodate the business from managing Financial, Production and up to front line Sales and Customer Service.

The MTC ERM will be launch by the Honorable Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, YB Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui on 3rd December 2008 at the Hall 1, Concourse Level, Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Putrajaya.
